I can’t get online or make phone calls at all. Have been online intermittently. I upgraded against my better judgement because of problems with my old phone. They said it was full. I hardly use my phone- only for WhatsApp and some calls. Is it my sim? and why? My number is 07813016066. Now saying my contacts are not registered on network. Can you fix it? Feel like I have been mis-sold this phone , just like the other one. Am very fed up.

The id coverage checker says the signal is excellent in my area but not according to my phone's signal strength icon. I've followed ALL I'd mobile's suggestions to improve my connectivity with no success and have tried contacting them but their Live Chat facility is down. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy J3 2016.

All 01,02 and 03 numbers are classed as UK landline numbers. If you were to call the 03 number the minutes would come out of your allowance.

If you were to call the number out of your allowances you would be charged 40p per minute.

How do I pay a 45p bill if the website won't recognise that amount?

For some reason I have an ID Mobile a bill of 45p, despite leaving ID on the 14th of May. These are charges for May 15th to 10th June - no idea what for, as the bill doesn't show. I have never used my sim so there are no used minutes or texts or data.
I click on 'pay now' from the email sent, and enter the amount of 0.45 but it says the amount is invalid. I tried 45p but it doesn't recognise that either.
I have gone to their website and signed in and tried again but I get the same response.
I have no BACS details for them and they are no longer in my bank account payee details as I finished the direct debit last month.
I have been into a Carphone Warehouse shop but they can't help or receive payment.
I try to phone, but as English is a second language they can't understand what I am trying to tell them (I teach English so it's not my language failure!).
I can't email as there is no email address on their website.
Does anyone have the BACS details for ID Mobile please or any ideas as to how I can pay?!
I am sure ID Mobile is desperate for my 45p as they will soon go bankrupt if they carry on like this!

I have an unlocked HTC U Ultra which I bought direct from HTC. When I insert my new ID Mobile sim, the option to enable Wi-Fi calling is absent from the settings menu. It is present with my sim from another provider.

Is it the handset which is causing this (as it is not in iD Mobile's list of supported Wi-Fi Calling handsets) or is it my iD Mobile plan?

The plan shouldn't be the issue. It will be the handset that is the problem in this particular case. However the list of handsets we support Wi-Fi calling with on iD is ever growing so hopefully it won't be too long until the HTC U Ultra is added.

Hi Laurence, you won't be able to remove the cap as it is a fixed feature applied on all our plans. You can set the cap to the minimum of £5.

Unexpected bill?

My son had a contract with you for two years at £17 a month which ended in December 2017 .. My wife rang up and got put through to an automated system and cancelled the contract and stopped her direct debit ..today we received a bill for £35 pounds and if we didn't pay it it would affect her credit rating.
We rang customer service explaining that after the two years contract was up that it had now been cancelled and they said no you haven't cancelled you owe the £35 plus whatever charges occur from now until the 30 day notice period ...this was not intentionally caused but a misunderstanding on the wife's behalf ,also why are we being charged the full monthly amount as we was under contract when there is no phone to pay for as this would have been settled under the 24 month contract which finished in December , so surely even though we made an error thinking the contract would terminate after 2 years the additional 2 months plus 30 days notice should only be charged minus the phone cost???

Hi Gary, we would not disconnect your account without your request to do this so the account would naturally remain active. We do not offer the option to cancel contracts on our automated system as it is necessary to confirm if a PAC is required to move the number to a different network or not.

As we would have been unaware of your wishes to cancel, the account would still be billed for despite the cancellation of the Direct Debit which is why you would subsequently receive a bill for the outstanding amount.

Repeating text messages?

I have 2 or 3 U.K. numbers I sometimes send text messages to (iPhone SE to Samsung for example). My phone bills have rocketed recently and after investigating my itemized statement, I noticed that these texts are repeating every 3 or 4 seconds and I am being charged every time. Obviously I have raised this issue with o2 Germany but nobod has come up with an explanation... any idea why this is Happening? My average bill for the last year was around 30€ and suddenly jumped to 87€ which is what alerted me. Tia.

I can send texts to a phone in Germany but not receive them from there. I can receive texts from within the UK.

Hi Roger, it seems strange that you are unable to receive text messages from Germany, this may be due to the network of your friend in Germany.

We wouldn't have any way to stop texts from Germany coming through to your phone, you may need to ask your friend to query this with their network.

Tried millions of ways to register to no effect. Had the phone two years and decided we do not use it enough so going to order a cheap sim only. Not interested in talking to a machine, or "you can do this and that on line at..", eventually spoke to someone we could not understand.
Outcome, cancelled the direct debit. If and when someone decides to contact us we'll cancel the whole thing!

Hi Cook, if you wish to cancel or move to a SIM only plan you can do this by calling 7777 from your phone or 0333 003 7777 from any other phone. If you have a problem with the automated menu, you can press # on 3 occasions to speak with someone.
We would not recommend cancelling the direct debit as this will not cancel your account and may lead to a debt on your account.

I am in Rome and I am unable to data roam. I have checked all my settings and they are all on as they should be.

Have you tried going to settings then mobile networks then Access Point Names to check if I’d internet comes up. Hope this helps. I had this problem in Venice and Myron was under 3 mobile.

My cap has been used when I still have data texts and minutes?

I’ve had a text off my ID saying I have used my cap, I checked the app and it is saying I’ve still got texts minutes and data but they’ve taken my cap off me, which I don’t understand, my bill is only supposed to be £12.50 a month and my cap is £15.00 but they’ve taken the cap off me even though I still have everything on my contact.

I recently discovered that my phone doesn't allow caller to leave voicemail any more, even though my voicemail feature is turned on. When I try to access my voicemail by dialling 123, it asks for my PIN number. I input the PIN number I know, but it doesn't get recognised, it just say that they think the PIN number is wrong and asks again and again. It doesn't give me the options to reset my PIN number. So it goes round in circles. How can I get the PIN number back and get my voicemail feature back?

Porting charges?

The porting charge is something they don't tell you about at the start of the contract. Neither do they tell you about the 30 day "notice period" when you port out that they charge for even when you are out of contract.

What is the £1.25 charge from an 84010 text charge on my bill?

I have had an item on my bill since April under Text Messaging from 84010 for £1.25. ID told me it was the RSPCA but their subscription charge is £3 or £5 and say my number is not on their records.
They did tell me it was a service charge not a subscription charge so I looked in My Services but and wonder if it is anything to do with Extra Usage Charges, but there doesn't seem to be any explanation of what Extra Usage Charges are.
Can anyone give me any advice on what it could be.

Im going to america in a week and need to know if i have the takeaway plan included on my phone so that i can roam for free using my normal allowances! I pay £27.50 a month for my phone and get 2GB data, 600 minutes and 5000 texts. Also on my online dashboard, underneath my photo it has my name, then my phone number and then it says 'takeaway - £27.50' so does this mean its defintely included?

I travelled here one month ago and my phone would not connect so I rang them and they told me the next time I travel here it would connect. I am here again and I have the same problem with the phone. When I try and get into the website i get access denied, I rang them yesterday from another phone and after waiting to speak to an advisor for ages I got through and they told me to ring back later as problem with website, I asked them to ring me back which they dident. I am wishing now I had not taken a contract with them as the service they provide is appalling.

If you phone hasn't automatically connected, a manual search for networks should enable the connection.

Hi David, you should be able to connect to Turkcell whilst in Northern Cyprus.

You can manually search and connect, however, if Turkcell is not available then you will not be able to use the service in that area.

We had the same thing occur - in our instance it was because we went over the data limit - iD mobile charge a ridiculous £100 per GB if you go over on your data. Additionally, unlike other mobile operators, they do not stop you using data once you have exceeded your data limit, so its incredibly easy to run up a massive bill very very quickly (flicking through instagram or tumblr will quickly burn up large amounts of data) - they cap the data at £75 per month, a fact that they really do not make clear and its actually impossible to turn the data cap to zero. If it is a data issue my suggestion is to try and get the money reclaimed (although I wouldn't hold your breath - their customer service department is based abroad and is truly awful) - if this fails perhaps contact the telecoms obudsman and report them. It may not do much good but if enough people report them they will be forced to do something about it. Failing that take your business elsewhere and never use Carphone warehouse, Dixons or Currys again.

Paul - yes, it it true that using apps such as Instagram will use quite a bit of data. We would suggest to keep an eye on your data allowance though our iD Mobile app, to ensure you don't exceed this.

Are there plans to introduce Wifi calling on iD Mobile? iD Mobile uses the Three network. Three has the option of Wifi calling so technically this would seem possible.....

Hi Nerys, you can find your PIN in the app or at my.idmobile.co.uk when you are logged in to your account.
You can also call 0333 003 7777 from any other phone and press # instead of entering your number. You may need to repeat this 3 times, however you will then be put through to speak with someone.

Hi, I set up my voice mail and have two queries please.
First and most important, the number of rings before the caller goes to Voicemail is excessive. My callers think the phone is not going to VM at all, and just hang up. Can I shorten the number of rings before VM kicks in ?
Secondly, I set up my own VM, and it is working fine, but after my own personal message, the message from the provider kicks in as well, i.e. a voice saying leave a message after the tone. i would like to remove the provider message and just leave my own ? Is that possible?

Hi Mary,

You can dial **61*123**XX# on your phone to change the delay.
XX determines the number of seconds (increments of 5) before voicemail answers the call.

We're not able to change the other greeting on voicemail unfortunately.

I've just upgraded but i can not get onto internet when my new samsung J5 2017 phone is on mobile data though the network settings are ok.

Hi DW, if you signed up to the app recently then your username should be your email address, your password would be something personal to yourself.

Hi. Since 20th july im being charged for calling my sons phone, which is 3 network. Ive never had to pay extra before, but im now being told its a non-standard tel no which is not included in my free minutes plan.. Its a standard uk 3 mobile number. I checked with 3 who say i shouldnt be charged any extra by id. Its always been included before. Any ideas?.

I've been having problems for nearly two weeks now with phone signal. I have been in important calls and the signal drops away during my calls. This is getting very frustrating. I called ID customer service and all I was told three mobile is down? Oh, ok then? What do I do then? I need to use my phone, I should be able to you know make phone calls??

Hi, my wife just canceled three and is now with id , poor signal in the house but have noticed no wifi calling or texts, where with three you can, thought id offered the same network but guess not ,i laughed at my wife nd said well am not getting id if i can't get a decent signal in the house ,can i ask are yous looking into this . if yous do wifi calling in the future for poor signals i may transfer over aswell as my 2 sons, as i pay for theres aswell . id does offer very good prices for there contract phones which i like but not if i can't get a signal or poor signal .

Hi, my first bill was due on 13th June. Although it shows as payment received on your website, I can't see any money taken from my account. I double checked account details on your website and I can see your direct debit on my online banking. Hi MG, direct debits can sometimes be taken a few days late but should be processed 14 days after your billing date.
Good to hear the payment has been completed now, there may simply have been a delay updating your bank account.

Why do I not always receive text replies when I know they've been sent?

As before but I don't use Twitter/Facebook. If I text someone a question - "what time will you arrive?", I often don't receive their reply - ie "3oclock". It is replies from various people on various networks so must be me. Always numbers I use often so not mistyped etc. Sometimes I get the reply hours later, sometimes not at all. It happens various times of the day in various locations - home and out and about.

You may be able to change the settings on your phone to only use 3G if you have an issue with your connection which may be preventing texts from being delivered to you promptly.
You can also call 7777 from your phone if you wish to speak with someone.

Hi Tim, iD SIMs do not normally have a PIN, if you try 0000 or 1234 without success then a PUK may be required to unlock the SIM. We can provide this for you which will remove any previous PIN.

Hi Maisie, if you turn roaming off while you are abroad then you will not be able to use calls, texts or mobile data. You can turn mobile data off on its own, this is usually a simple setting on your device. This would enable you to send text messages and make calls, but you would not be able to use the internet on your phone.

Hi Andy, MMS messages are not included in your allowance, this is the reason you would have been charged 30p to send the message. If you are on a Takeaway plan then your text messages will be taken from your allowance while you are away. If you send another MMS, you will be charged extra. Your phone should alert you if the message converts to MMS, so you can avoid sending it. How to get past iD's automated telephony security questions?

My wife is with iD (on a rolling one month contract), and kept running out of data, and was having to buy mid-month add-on bundles pretty much every month.

We found no way to simply increase the data allowance/change her plan, either through the app or the website, so tried our local Carphone Warehouse for some help. The guy there thought he’d got it sorted, but rather than an SMS saying that her plan had been changed, a new SIM (with a new number and monthly charge) arrived in the post.

Whenever my wife has tried calling iD she has failed to get past the security questions – despite definitely inputting the correct information – and the call just gets cut off, with no option to speak to someone and resolve the security issues.

She has tried emailing but has never got any answers.

So for the past couple of months, she’s had two SIMs and two monthly subscriptions – one with insufficient data, one with the wrong phone number associated with it.

What’s the best suggestion…? Is there any way of actually getting to speak to someone, or should she just cancel both and go to another network? (Although thinking on, she still wouldn't be able to get a PAC code if she can’t navigate the phone system…

Hi,

I had the very same issue from my bill from April 2017. I am always so careful with not going over and if i receive a text saying my data has gone, I turn it off straight away. I was charged over double my normal bill. I checked my app throughout the month to ensure I didn't go over. However, they replied with: from our side of the company we sent a text saying your data had got to zero, and then I was told I continued to use my data for a week afterwards, which I would have definitely not have done if I received the text sent.

I was following the data usage shown on the app and therefore I am wondering if there is a delay in the app system as I was told over the phone that I was still using it for 7 days after my data ran out?

I have had my phone since September last year, never gone over my data usage. Suddenly this month I am over it plus over two add ons. Why. I ring and ask and get the same replies all the time - simply you have used it. Why would I suddenly be using so much data when not using any apps other than facebook?

I am a disabled pensioner, I use my phone so I can get help as I have a few health problems. Suddenly this month I am using massive amounts of data when all I do is look at facebook and messenger daily, as I have done since getting the phone. Very same issue as me. Except, I was following my app for knowing how much data I had and was charged over double my normal bill. I rang them to explain the app had told me otherwise and I had not noticed receiving a text telling me my data was at 0 but was told the same response each time about they sent the text out and that the app wouldn't do that.

For another 100MB data , I need to pay extra £10.49.
Then, I go to my online ID account and checked, it is appeared I only used 50% data only.

Hi Rica, it sounds like you may have a double data plan. The text will alert you when you've used your standard allowance however you still have the double data remaining.

No wi fi, says access denied?

My wi fi has been fine since i had phone 8 months ago,but for 3 weeks it says access denied,all other devices work fine,so its not router,tried various things,restarting phone,clearing cache,putting in password etc etc, mobile data still works,but no wifi.

Hi Debbie, on most phones you can forget or delete the existing Wifi network from the phone then try to reconnect. You will be prompted for the password again.

You may also need to restart your WiFi router if the phone cannot reconnect.

This afternoon have had several numbers text me saying I have txt wrong number, also cannot send or recieve texts at the minute. Best sort it or I'll be off elsewhere. I have tried to make calls and connect to the web but there appears to be no service. When I get onto the ID site via internet on another device the site says there is no access to my account as the service is down for 'maintenance' and will be available on 1st DECEMBER !!! £35 additional charges for data when phone showed connected to wifi?

This appears to be a regular issue with other users I see with similar problems.
I was notified yesterday that I had used my mobile data, I checked my phone and it said connected to wifi. I continued to use phone, and after 30 minutes logged on to ID to see that I have an upcoming bill with £46.57 to be charged due to extra data usage? How can this be? I was still connected to wifi!
I am not very happy that this has happened....was there a delay in the text message being sent? was I actually using mobile data? If so, I think I will need to take my phone in for a replacement as I must have been sold a faulty phone that lies.

Hi Claire, you would only be charged for data if your handset has used the connection so there could have been an issue with the WiFi service. Some phones will also automatically switch to mobile data if the service is faster/ more stable than WiFi.
You could turn mobile data off in these situations to avoid any chance of this happening again.

You can also monitor your usage with our app however if you believe the text may have been delayed please get in touch so we can investigate this for you.

Will my out of plan charges be due to be paid a month in arrears?

I have had a charge of £4.55 added to my bill when I rang a Premium number( in March). ( I did not realise at the time that it was a premium number). My monthly payment for March 2017 has been taken by DD today but not the extra amount. When I rang your customer services I was told that this payment will be taken a month in arrears ie in April 2017. Please can you confirm this. thank you.

Hi Hilary, what you are saying is correct; your monthly bill includes charges for the previous month but where the charges show does depend on your billing date. For example, if you made the premium call on 15th March and your billing date is 14th March then the charges would not show until the following month. We hope this makes sense.

Why is my credit score losing points every time add more data to my bill?

I have been an ID customer for over a year. I was sold the wrong SIM deal but decided to stay on it (wanted free international roaming). Noticed a change in my credit score at first because of the ID check however, I reviewed my credit score for 2016/2017 and have noticed the score was fluctuating. I have only used 30% of the credit card on average and decided to query this with Experian, who explained to me that ID's credit check has caused a points deduction. Now, this is not at the start of the contract but during it. I pay by direct debit so i am never late on payments. The only thing i have done is run out of my 2gb allowance more frequently and have paid for additional data. If i find this is effecting my credit score doing this, I will be changing provider.

Hi Douglas, iD Mobile run a credit check whenever a contract is taken out and this applies to all customers. When a customer adds more data with an add-on we do not run a credit check. You can contract Equifax or Experian and they can advise further regarding your credit score, you can even sign up for an account with them which will show you a breakdown of what may be affecting your score.

How to get Wifi calling on my iphone 5S?

I have only just set up a monthly SIM deal with iD-mobile and don't seem to be able to get Wifi calling on my iphone 5S. As I live in a very poor reception area (i.e. no reception indoors at all) this is pretty useless. Hope I won't have to swap provider as everything else has been very straightforward and as expected. Very disappointed if this turns out to be the case - hope I am wrong???? Let me know!

When I took out a £12.50 iD shockproof plan I was not told there was an extra £5 cap. Call it a £17.50 a month plan that's what I'm charged.

Hi there, Jeff. Our Shockproof plans do offer the benefit of a Cap which can be set as low as £5. This is in place to stop customers incurring big bills from using excessive data, calls or texts. The cap is not something that has to be used, by keeping an eye on spending via the iD Mobile App you can ensure you do not use extra data, calls or texts and stay within your monthly plan which would cost £12.50.

Additional Data charges?

Hi I received my bill and much to my complete amazement there is £75 extra data charges....which i have since found is for using only 1gb of data over allowance ..slightly confused as website says additional charges capped at £41, also can you confirm that you charge 10 p per additional mb? Thank you.

Oh and just as a note....customer service centre is appalling, never ever have I received such patronising, blood boiling customer service...you won't sustain a business for long with that service...coupled with what appears to be ripping customers off....avoid!!!

I've had this issue also, they sent my son 3 txts which he didn't read as he was watching YouTube videos, in the space of 20mins they'd billed him £50 for 500mb of data when a 1gb of data bolt on is £7. I'll never ever use them again. They won't even put a cap on the data usage for me so it doesn't happen again. They can see by his previous bills he doesn't normally use mobile data and it's been switched on by mistake. Customer services are a joke and they'll be losing this customer.

Hi Sharon, we do charge 10p per MB when customers use data outside of their allowance, however, there are add-ons available to purchase through the iD Mobile App for more data when you are running low. Customers are sent a text message when they hit 80% of their data and then again when they hit 100% which do include a link to the App to purchase additional data if needed.

I recently joined your network on december and ever since then whenever i get a text saying i have used 100% of my mobile data i check the iD app and it says i have like 50 mb left and sometimes everytime i check it from now and then it goes up instead of down. Hi Nazz, we send texts when 80% and 100% of data is used. The app should reflect this accurately. If you've using data at a fast rate sometimes the allowance can be exceeded and cause extra charges before the text is received. We'd recommend being cautious when your data allowance is almost used up.
You can buy add-ons to give you more data and avoid extra charges.

What do I need to do to get written confirmation that my contract is cancelled and that I don't owe anything?

Bought a rolling month sim contract and requested a port of my number to the new sim. ID Mobile messed up the port and left me uncontactable despite them messaging me to the effect that the port was completed successfully. Their helpline told me it would be 3-5 days to fix?? After 5 days, I called again as my phone number was still showing as unobtainable and was told 3-5 'working days'. After 5 'working days', I called again and was told they are 'escalating' the problem to another team as their technical team were unable to resolve the issue.....and it's going to take 3-5 days....again!! I gave up and ordered a new sim from a different network and once it arrived, I called to cancel my ID contract. I've had to advise people I know that I have a new number but that doesn't include all the various accounts and online registrations I've got.

I've been told twice verbally that my account is closed and that I don't owe anything BUT I received texts on the ID number that I should expect a direct debit payment to leave my account in a couple of weeks?? So I called again and asked for written confirmation (email or letter) to the effect that my account is closed and that I don't owe ID Mobile any money and was told they'll pass this request on to the 'correspondence team'. I've since had another text about my direct debit...again, to the ID number that I don't use. So I called the helpline....again.... and was told to send a request via ID Mobile's website?? Why the helpline can't just deal with it I don't know?? So I've sent a request via the online form and then received an email asking for confirmation of my date of birth and full address for 'security reasons' as the online form doesn't request all this information, only the 1st line of the address?? Why don't you update the form then??

ID Mobile and their 'helpline' are the most useless, ineffective and inefficient company I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. Truly mind blowing. I want written confirmation that my account is closed and that there are no monies owing as I've read numerous reviews from other disgruntled customers whereby ID Mobile either take money or request payment...sometimes months after accounts have been closed down. ID send confirmation of orders and setting up of direct debits etc. but anything else seems to be like asking for the impossible.

Appalling aggressive customer service by staff at the 0333 number and unable to speak to any member of management when speaking to a representative called Shenna.

My wife cancelled her contract with ID due to a massive language barrier and when things startered to go wrong, i.e. Phone not working messages not being sent we started to ring and constantly get no where.
My wife's name is Lindsey and has been called everything but Lesley Lillian Linda, these are the sort of barriers we have been up against.
When we cancelled the contract we asked for PAC number.
After a few months of ID mobile still taking money we didn't know about we cancelled the DD and then got greeted with a bill when we tried to speak to someone all we got in return from customer services called Shenna was an aggressive attitude and told no we can't speak to a member of management.
This is poor customer service and we are still dealing with situation now.
Can you please look into this.

I purchased a iD sim card from the Internet. I have the lowest monthly account of £4 / month.i have fitte the sim card into my phone and it comes up "searching", then changes to "emergency". I do not think this is correct. What do I do about it. Many thanks Sid.

It may be that your sim card has not been inserted correctly. Modern sim cards are very small and fiddly. I expect that if you took this to a branch of Carphone Warehouse they would check this for you.

Hi shywazz, your app may display an amount of 50mb less when that data is reserved. You can confirm this by deactivating mobile data and checking the app again an you will see all available data is remaining. This does not affect your total allowance for the month.

In addition you also instructed a debt collection agency who wrote to my mother in November 2016????? the amount of stress you are causing is ridiculous. Please sort your admin team out and get this account closed. If I received one more letter demanding money from my mother I will be seeking legal action. I have emailed approximately 6 times and my father came into the Carphone Warehouse Store within Curry's at the Peel Centre Stockport after you could not open the death certificate sent. He have a hard copy to your staff and left hoping it would be dealt with. I have since had a debt collection letter as a result of your inefficiency and today a bill. this is extremely upsetting.

Just purchased iDmobile £7.50 monthly shockproof sim,carefully spent hours looking through the pros an cons and there appears to be many dissatisfied customers, for myself mobile phones can be a little daunting and before the phone is switch on (which in itself has sneaky ways of boosting service providers extra charges)I tried to read the invoice which came with the sim, this was eventually managed by way of simple scan saved to PDF and later increased to almost a readable size by 200%,and as such its not so much of what is written its how its interpreted. My second challenge was the sim contract itself, this appeared OK 250 mins 5000 text and 2Gb data payed monthly set it up and its working fine,switched on making sure the hidden charge switches are off roaming etc one or two others not so lucky like voice mail, so whats my moan you may ask,well 250 mins is not enough and as the small print states charged by the second minimum charge by the minute.So thinking best to upgrade to their £10 monthly contract that should do it, woe woe hang on sir can't be done my machine informs me well not until 6 months passes, you can purchase extra 200 mins for £3 per month no roll over, so whats this monthly contract about then, any ideas? one would assume cancel and start the new one straight away as with many customers I found the voice at the end of a machine can help whereas there is no voice at the end of the telephone unless you have plenty and plenty of waiting time.thank you for reading my moan and how do cancel a sim card monthly contract without incurring extra costs?.

Hi Rob, there are a couple of ways you can cancel your sim, either you can request a PAC, which you can use to transfer your current mobile number to a different provider, or you can request a 30 day disconnection, this will cease your services 30 days from request and you will lose the phone number. Is there an problem with ID's registration system?

I've been trying to register an account since yesterday with the correct details and I keep getting "Something wasn't quite right. Can you enter your details again please?" The details are definitely correct and on ID's system as I can pass the security questions when I call from my phone. If this problem is not resolved by the end of today I will be cancelling my 2 day old contract.

Locked phone problem.

My daughter bought a new iPhone 5 from Carphone Warehouse with a ID network contract. However she put the SIM from her old phone (different network) to transfer contacts but the new phone is now locked to the old network. Old network say it's not their problem and they can't unlock. ID say they won't unlock to allow ID network to be used until the minimum contract period has ended. No help from ID and my daughter now has to pay for two years for a phone and network time she can't use at all. Not impressed. Any suggestions?

Hi Chris, iPhones will lock to the first network sim used in them, when this occurs; only the network the handset is locked to is able to process the unlock to allow use with a different network. How to pay final bill on transfer?

I'm currently in the process of moving to three from ID. I have got the pac code and have applied to transfer the number and have cancelled my direct debit. However I have a bill due on 7th Jan so will I need to set the direct debit up again so this bill can be paid? Hi Molly, you can call customer services on 0333 003 7777 to pay the final bill which will be generated once your number is ported out. If your new month starts on the 7th then there is unlikely to be any charge, only call costs if any.

Hi Molly, if you are on a monthly rolling contract then you'll only need to pay for any recent call charges unless you've received a bill within the past few weeks that hasn't yet been paid. You would have been advised about your contract term when you obtained your PAC and most of our SIM only plans are monthly rolling contracts.
You can get confirmation from customer services who can look into your account.

Two mobile numbers on same account but can only see usage for one?

Mine and my wife's phones are on the same account, with two separate direct debits being taken, usually a couple of days apart. When registering online you can only enter one of the phone numbers, so we can only view usage for that phone and have no way of seeing how many minutes or data has been used or is remaining on the other phone. I tried registering again using the other phone number but it tells me that I am already registered. Is there any way I can see both phones' usage?

would like to say what a rip off you lot are my contract should be £11.50 a month.....and already ive got extra £4.oo add on to my bill only use the phone for text and ringing and use our own internet at home which is set up on my phone......still got over 4000 texts left and 79mins off calling time..... why was we not told about this domestic charge when having the phone?? i was on 02 and paying £15 a month your sales person 100% TOLD ME YOUR NETWORK WOULD BE CHEAPER....well im sorry you are not cheaper your just a rip off company....i got my phone just before christmas..... and now thinking about taking phone back and going back to o2....you really need to learn your sale team to tell the truth.....your network is a RIP OFF....from one very unhappy iD user.

I'm having the exact same problem. They added £10 to my bill last month (my first month of payment) and for this month I am now seeing an addition "domestic" charge of £4. I was previously paying £15 a month with o2 and was told that this contract would be cheaper - which is NOT the case. I have minutes left and texts. I have no data left but turned my 3g off AS SOON AS I received the text saying I had reached my limit.
This is EXACTLY how phone companies end up scamming money off innocent people and is EXACTLY why I will be recommending against ID to everyone.

I finally persuaded my elderly father to switch from PAYG to a contract and was advised by Carphone Warehouse that ID Mobile was a good option. He wanted to keep his number so I obtained a PAC code from O2 on 21/12, input it onto ID's website. I called a couple of days later and finally spoke to someone, who then spoke to my father (which took several attempts as he couldn't understand the person who insisted on speaking very fast and in jargon he couldn't understand) and promised that the number would be ported by 6pm that day. It wasn't. We went into Carphone Warehouse on 24/12 who called ID and were told numbers were only ported on certain days and the next one was 26/12 - seems hardly believable because that was a bank holiday. Today, 28/12, the number has still not transferred. My father isn't here with me so I can't call ID again as they would need to speak to him, and he can't do it himself as the customer service reps are not 'user-friendly' to elderly people at all. On the ID website if I log in for my Dad it says 'number successfully transferred' it has said this since I input the PAC code.

Domestic charge seconds after received a text telling me that i used over 80% of data?

I got a text this morning say i used over 80% of my data straight away looked at id app to see there is a charge of £25.90 as domestic charge.
I will for sure not renew my contract with them and i will never recommend them i have made a complain to OFCOM too and hope everyone who had the same issue to do the same.

Hi Lauren, domestic charge could be for calls, texts or data used over the allowance. The charge could also be for MMS or calls to non-inclusive numbers such as 0870 numbers. ShockProof plans come with a £5 minimum cap.

I ordered a sim for my husband it never arrived to be honest I had forgotten about it, had no letters reminding me to pay. Started getting strange calls to my mobile about an undisclosed business matter for my husband, only to find the ID had sent this to a debt collector!!!! For £20!! Hello everyone,

I've been an ID customer for the past 10 Months and I must admit for most of this time I haven't really had much to complain about, until now, I've just had a text message from ID saying i've reached 80% of my billing limit?!?!?

So I've called customer service and asked for a breakdown, they have charged me £49.00 for less than half a gigabyte of DATA!!!!!!!

I asked the CSR how much a Gigabyte of DATA costs as an Add-on and she said £7.00, so their charging me £49 for less than half of that amount of DATA!! Total rip-off merchants!!

What makes matters worse is I was never told about these charges when I took the contract out in the carphone warehouse store so I feel really misled and frustrated.

Next stop my solicitor and a lengthy complaint to OFCOM.

i just had the same issue
had the 80% warning then all of a sudden i got charged £48.08 for a tiny amount of data

told them it was a mistake and can they help me especially as it it xmas and I usually spend a lot on extra data but the usual indian call centre said pretty much tough luck

disgusted with how they look after they customers (or not in most cases) so I definitely wont be renewing my contract and will tell everyone to avoid id mobile

Same thing happened to my daughter failed to send the txt reminding she had used her allowance charged £78. Rang ID up admitted they failed to notify by text that my daughter had used her allowance. Even though they were at fault they refuse to reimburse not one penny back.

I see I am not alone. I took out a contract with them two months ago as a Christmas present for my son. Within 5 days he'd used 1.32GB of data despite being connected to the wifi. He has never used that much before! They charge £10/ 100MB exceeding the limit despite it only being £1.50/100MB for an add-on. They have refused to put on a cap or spend limit. At no point was I told about the lack of cap or excessively high charges before the charges were there. Very deceptive. I will definitely be contacting ofcom. Glad to hear I'm not alone.

I've just had the same issue, As soon as we took out the contract we had "domestic charges" applied, I finally found out that there was a non existent number apparently called from the phone, less than a few second each call smae number ending in 4444. Phone user says she didnt phone it and it's not on the phone log.
Now I've been hit this month with £35 extra for data apparently used the day before the monthly contract renews. User of the phone switches off 3g and only uses data via WiFi.
I'm afraid we are being misled, and frankly conned by the billing.

I came here as I've given my son a phone for his birthday today. At the end of the first day he had made one call to me (less than a minute) and send 8 text messages (no data usage since he was on WiFi for the hour he used the phone).

On a plan which includes 250 minutes and 5000 texts, iD mobile have already charged £4.50 in additional "domestic charges".

From all the other questions posted here about the same issue it's pretty clear that this is their underhand way if doing business. I'll be cancelling the account tomorrow.

I just checked my bills for id and have been charged over 140 pounds extra for my under 20 pounds a month contract. I am incredibly disappointed by id mobile due to the extra charges, where substantial sums of money are taken without any explanation. The contract I have does not even allow the user to put on a cap, probably due to the amount of money this provider makes from massively overcharging its customers. To say I am hugely disappointed and shocked by these extra charges, and this provider is an understatement. I am generally a very careful consumer and always look for the best deals, but in this case I should have opted for a slightly more expensive contract, in which I wouldn't be exploited in this way. I would STRONGLY advise against buying a mobile phone contract with id mobile/carphpne warehouse.

My 11 year old daughter is on holiday in grecce,she using her phone calling home she just got a txt how much the call charge is?I have signed a contract for £5 cap,when I take this contract I have told the sales person that the phone is for my daughters 10th birthday and they kindly help me to take a contrat that I can afford.my question is do I pay any charge if my daughter already use her cap?shouldn't they stop making phone call once she reach her cap?

I had the same problem. Speaking to my provider (Tesco) they say calls to my daughter in London are going through as calls to the Channel Islands! Daughter is trying to sort out.

I don't know but I've got 9 pound extra on my bill saying domestic...rang today woman said she didn't have access to what it was..but I ended up buying 5 pounds worth of data baffled.....

Have just spoke to a very helpfull man in customer services who tells me domestic means anything you've used that's not included in youre plan...in my case I have used all my data allowance..so instead of sedenying access to data..they allow me to carry on at the extortionate price of 10p per mb...I'd used 90mb of data which comes to £9...also discovered if you use emojies in a text they turn it into a picture message....and charge you....valuable lesson learnt today....watch you don't go over you're data allowance or don't send emojies in a text...it'll cost you. ..hope this helps

Thank Carl great help as every month get charged domestic rate but no one would say what it was for I thought just another con wasn't far wrong.

You can call customer services by dialling 7777 from your iD mobile. Alternatively, you can call them from a landline on 0333 003 7777 (charges from landlines and other mobile networks may vary).

Ive took a 24 month contract including fone for 15.50 per month and every bill has come in at more than double, even tho i know for a fact im no where near over my limit on data or calls or txts! Ive emailed ID but never got any reply, ive tried ringing them but the only reply i keep getting after its rung 3 times is"this is a test message this service is not available at thepresent time"! Whats going on here? I think theyre clueless as to what theyre doing and need sorting.

I took a 24 month contract of £19.50 per month for my granddaughter who is 11, I have had 3 bills of £95.50!!! I am out of my mind as they said it is for domestic data? There is no way she could have used this & it seems strange that each bill is exactly the same. I asked if her contract could be capped they said no, I asked if I could change the contract they said no, I asked how much it would be to cancel the contract they said £410 + the monthly bill of £95. I can't afford this & couldn't get any satisfaction from customer services which it took me a full morning to get through to. They definitely need looking into I'm a pensioner & really can't afford to pay these charges especially when I know they're wrong.

Please don't pay! I took out a contract in September for my son - £12.50 per month shockproof. September all loaded correctly. In October, the data loaded was completely wrong and in November, we got no data at all. After ringing them (in South Africa), they were completely rude and unhelpful - they informed me that we had used all our data in 2 days - basically calling me a liar when we said the data hadn't loaded. They then confirmed that the app on the phone was wrong and there was a technical fault which they would sort - they never did - lo and behold my charges were creeping higher and higher. After 2 weeks, they informed me that there was not a fault, they were not in the wrong and my data had been used. In the end, I took the phone to Carphone Warehouse - they are trying to sort it out as we speak but they have told me under no circumstances to pay the additional costs. I have now cancelled contract and direct debit - let them sue me!!

Just been looking into why I have extra charge whilst still being under my limit. Think it maybe that I sent a photo msg... via txt msg. Seems that these are not included within the 5000 'free' txts? Need to contact CS to clarify.

I sent five picture messages, and noticed a £1.50 charge to my bill next month. As pic messages are 30p each I guess they're not included in data or texts.

Still trying to find out why I've been charged a £9 domestic charge....rang customer service Sunday and the woman said she didn't have Access to why is been charged...but noticed my data had ran out...only get 500mb and my phone record says I've used 587mb so I've a feeling this £9 is for the 87mb I've used...which is a rip off....she talked me into buying a 500mb one off boost..tried to ring back to complain and the service is having technical difficulties and nobody answering now...so if I don't get my answers am looking for am going to write to them in Southampton as advised from offcom.

Been with id 6 month never had issue till now just got a charge of 49.99 for a domestic charge when i ring to find out why they keep hanging up going down to carphone tomorrow. I sugest make a written complaint then go to trading standards i am.

My contract is due to end soon and I don't want it anymore. What do I need to do?

Please ensure that you write to them and get a record of the delivery of the letter. DO NOT rely on these methods. I did both and long story short ended up using one of the ombudsman services to sort this out. My advice stay well clear of ID.

You need to report these to their regulator as clearly this company I think carphine warehouse has introduced themselkf as the middle man to extort customers. It is wrong and malpractice. They must have a regulator ombudsman so do have a look and the more of you that report it or even ads links like this site showing the complaints the more likely they will take action! good luck.

Actually, it's very common for network operators to charge this. Picture messages are MMS messages, so they are not included in your SMS allowance. O2 does the same.

I currently have the same problem I am on a 20 pound a month capped plan and for the last two months iv been charged 95 twice. Worst company ever would not recommend to anyone. When you try to get answers for why the bill is so high, they say iv gone over my data when this cannot happen also I have not used it for a month as I was trying to get the money back they owe and I have still been charged 95 pounds.

I have the same as you. It is because they charge 10p per mb after you use your limit. Only charged me once and I left. The charges are not comparable - £20 for 20Gb.
This is why they can offer such a good deal as they get it back in excessive charges.
Most importantly they do not follow their complaints procedure and I am currently dealing with Ofcom in this matter.
Worst customer service possible, never return your calls, avoid at all costs.

me too... i know for a fact that i never go over because 95% of my time i spend at home and use the wifi...because im disabled. My £15.50 monthly plan keeps coming in at over £40...including international call??? Why would i want to call abroad lol??? Im gonna cancel my contract and in long run it will be cheaper than paying more than double every month when i never use all data or call time.

They make the statements up. The same mobile falls into 2 different categories on the statement, 1 being domestic use. Also there were 2 whole pages showing my daughter had send texts to the same mobile number on the same day literally seconds apart. So basically about 100 or so text msgs. But the mobile number was mine & when I checked my phone I had not received 100 msgs from her that day! Even though I get free texts with my contract, it is not the point because knowing they added an extra 100 txt msgs which she never sent, imagine what else they are adding to our monthly statements. Every month I have to query the data usuage. But I get no response. They don't send me reminders to submit payment. And charge me an extra 3.50 a month because I refuse to pay by direct debit after I first queried my bill in Nov last year. I was told to cancel the d/d by id mobile so that no money would leave my account until they had resolved the issue of my extortionate data charges. Yet they did not mention I would be charged for not paying by a d/d & they still imply the data has gone over every month.

I also have the same problem. They have put a cap on my phone of an extra £75 which I knew nothing about. Customer service are clueless and can't tell me when/how I have actually agreed to this and they charged me an extra £58 for data. To add insult to injury I have paid my line rental and they have blocked my phone. It would appear they make their money simply by charging people for extras that they haven't agreed to spend. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I changed networks from o2 to ID mobile as thought it was cheaper. However, I get constantly overcharged for data usage. No caps on your data allowance, no warnings at or before the limit so got charged £38 for one days data. How can i get refunded on this ?

You can't, I have tried repeatedly, complain, use ofcoms advise as they do not follow the rules for complaints. Only then will they hopefully do something about it.

I wanted to turn off my ID voice mail. in the F A Q on the phone it says dial 7777 and an advisor will go through it with you.
I did this and after several press this and press that I eventually spoke to a man who said "it is not possible to turn off the voice mail, but I can give you a code that will extend the number of rings before it goes to voice mail." So I entered the code of 125 stars, numbers, and hash keys pressed the dial button and guess what? Just got a message saying invalid code. So not happy.
