LG 49UH770V review

 Review: July 2016

Rating: 5 stars

In a nutshell: The LG 49UH770V is a higher-end 49-inch TV that offers very good value for money. It's one of LG's "Super UHD" models with HDR10 and Dolby Vision, giving it very good picture quality. The Smart TV system offers a comprehensive range of entertainment, and the "magic" remote makes it easy to use.

LG 49UH770V review

The UH770V model is the cheapest of LG's "Super UHD" TV range for 2016. See our full LG UH770V review of the 55-inch model to find out more. The price of the UH770V has already fallen a long way since its launch in April 2016, and it's now very good value. The step-up LG 49UH850V shares the same design, but with better picture quality, 3D viewing, and a superior sound system.

We'd also recommend looking at the Samsung UE49KU6400.

What is the input lag like for this T.V?

I am a console gamer, so I will be using this T.V with the Xbox One X. I would like to know about the input lag time as that is an important factor for gaming.

Off! Just try it. All these extras just seem to fuzz everything.

The LG 49UH770V or the 49KU6400?

Asked by Joshua from England on 10th Dec 2016
Struggling to decide between these two TV's. Will be used primarily for 4k tv and movies and gaming on the PS4 Pro and Pc.

4k upscaler struggles, its worthless watching films in dark rooms or watching dark scenes because as a friend below said the whole screen looks like broken when pixel tiles light up looks so ugly and annoying. I wonder how this TV passed the quality check and went on market.

I've got the 49inch model, the backlighting/local dimming issue is awful, once you notice it you can't unnotice it and it's constant.

In bright scenes it looks fantastic, but every time a dark scene comes up all I can see are the vertical backlight strips turning on and off like a light up xylophone. Such a shame, such a waste of money.

I just got mine today and the back black line is showing up when I'm scrolling through the menus it's awful sending it back.
