Panasonic DMP-BD84 review

 Review: May 2016

Rating: 3 stars

In a nutshell: The Panasonic DMP-BD84EB-K smart network Blu-Ray disc player is a very basic entry-level player. It includes ethernet connectivity with simple Smart TV functionality (Netflix, YouTube and a few other apps), but no Wi-Fi support. It's super-compact, but over-priced at launch. Our target price for this model is 50, and at that price it would be a good buy.

Today's best buy: Panasonic DMP-BD84 from Hughes (£54.00)

Should not be classed as blu ray player.Paperweight is more suitable function.Never again Panasonic.I will give it 1 star but it doesn't deserve even that 1.

I stupidly bought this assuming it could connect wirelessly to the internet for NETFLIX, etc.
Lo-and-behold It needs an Ethernet cable. unbelievanble. Why is it even on the market ?.

Almost useless. Blu-ray/DVD will only play main feature, will not allow access to menu for extras. Also, internet connection works only 10% of the time, which makes it pretty much useless for viewing Netflix and other online content. Much of the time the unit is simply unresponsive and it seems unable to boot its own system up. Would not recommend.
