Samsung UE48JU6445 review
Review: August 2015 | ||
![]() Rating: In a nutshell: The 48-inch Samsung UE48JU6445 is almost identical to the JU6400. It's a good UHD TV for family viewing, with excellent picture quality, and Samsung's latest Smart TV system. The design is stylish and practical, with a flat screen rather than a less practical curve. The JU6445 is exclusive to Currys / PC World. |
Summary
The Samsung UE48JU6445 is identical to the JU6400, except that it has a slightly higher Picture Quality Index (PQI) of 1000 instead of 900. That's because it includes Samsung's PurColour feature, which enables you to access a broader colour spectrum. In practice the difference is hardly noticeable.
The JU6445 has all of the good features that make the JU6400 a good choice for family viewing - UHD (4K) resolution, inky-dark blacks, vivid colours, excellent motion control, Smart TV, a wide range of connectivity options, and a fantastic design.
It's exclusive to Currys / PC World.

It should be possible to record to an external USB drive, but this
feature can be quite temperamental.
Is this tv bluetooth compatible?

Want a sound bar that I can connect via bluetooth.

Quite happy with the t.v when I bought it 18 months ago but the screen
has failed after just a year and a half and Samsung totally not
interested, they didn't even bother to respond to my email asking for
support. I was told eventually by an authorised agent that I might as
well throw the Tv away as it will cost almost as much to replace the
screen as buy a new one.
Last Samsung product I will ever
buy.

Set the IP address up manually between your BT router and your TV. May
be better of using a wired connection.

Bought this having read reviews of many uhd tv's in this price range ,
now feeling slightly disappointed mainly because of the viewing angles
, they really are poor the tv has to be turned towards the viewer as
even a slightly off centre seating position really affects the picture
quality.
Viewing the screen dead centre gives a decent picture
when tuned into hd channels but sd channels look far worse than on my
previous hd tv , sd channels really struggle to fill the screen with
any clarity.
Uhd content does look good and the smart functions
are decent enough , but beware the viewing angles they will affect you
if your seating arrangement in your room is spread out!

Got my 48" ju6445 and I'm astounded at how good it is for the price of
£699 from Currys.
Great picture, connected to
Panasonic hard drive recorder and Sony HT CT660 soundbar.
Internet functions are much quicker than I expected, but not quite at
PC speed - better than the hard drive Panasonic DMR-BWT735.
I definitely recommend this TV, so much so that my mum and dad now
have one.
