Samsung UE55KU6400 review
Review: June 2016 | ||
![]() Rating: In a nutshell: A 55-inch TV for £1000 is a compelling proposition, and the Samsung UE55KU6400U is probably the best 55-inch telly you can buy for this kind of money. Picture quality is excellent, with 4K and HDR support included, and this is a superb choice for family viewing, with BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, All 4 or My5, and streaming content from Amazon and Netflix all on tap. |
55-inch Samsung KU6400 UHD TV Review
At S21, we've predicted that the 49-inch version of the Samsung KU6400 will be the UK's most popular TV in 2016, thanks to its attractive design, generous screen size, superb picture quality, and excellent Smart TV - and, of course, its incredible value for money.
The 55KU6400 is perhaps even better value for money, giving you a massive 55-inch TV for £1000 or less. Read our detailed 49-inch KU6400 review to find out more. The only comment we'd add to this, is that at the 55-inch screen size some motion artifacts can be apparent. But you'd need to upgrade to the significantly more expensive Samsung KS7000 to overcome this limitation.
The 55-inch KU6400 is already selling for less than its £1080 RRP, and we think the price will fall well below £900 by Black Friday / Christmas 2016.

Currently have a 1080p Samsung TV (F8000) which does on Smart Hub
content and XBOX ONE, but doesn't via STBs (VM TiVo nd nVidia Shield
TV).
Does this have 8bit+FRC panel? Does it support HDR at all?

I found the Samsung new for £540, and the Panny for £630 @
Very.
Does the Samsung have any sort of HDR support like
the Panasonic? What is better at motion?
Cheers.

Both TVs support 4K and HDR, and both are very good choices.

Great TV, purchased for £649 from John Lewis with a 5yr
warranty.
Like most newer TV's - the additional soundbar
is really must (K551).
Whilst this set can process HDR, I
think it is a little misleading since it can't actually show them. My
understanding is that the panel does not support HDR. Bit like a radio
with one speaker saying it contains stereo technology. For the price
it seems great.
Impressed that it is possible to pair
bluetooth headphones to the TV and have leave the tv speaker on,
helpful for any of the harder hearing who don't want to force everyone
else to have the volume blasting.
